When I gave my life to Jesus I longed to share with others the beautiful words spoken by the Lord Jesus Christ. To share His teachings, to share His gift of salvation and to share the joy of His grace, given so freely and abundantly to us. To experience the profound effect His deep love has on us and to rejoice in the glorious hope that abounds in Him. I prayed for a way to do this and this was my vision:

Scripture Roses crafted from His tender words. Roses that display His love, His compassion, His mercy and His grace. Roses that can penetrate deep into the hearts of those who do not yet know Him and those who do. To all who are in need of love, comfort and hope. Roses that permeate the air with His truth and His love, into the hearts of everyone. Roses that can be sent across the world to bring His word into the most difficult of circumstances, bringing light into the darkness.

And so this has been my passion for the last 5 years; sharing God’s word through His roses.

My initial reservation at cutting up bibles was overcome knowing that the books used would be sourced from charity shops and second hand retailers; bibles that had been neglected. But my vision was to open them and allow God’s word to breathe, in a new and powerful way.

The roses are crafted using random pages of bibles. I use a combination of alcohol and acrylic paint for the red and pink roses whilst the white have been left untouched and display the natural colour of each bible page. The leaves are sponged with a rich green ink to create texture. They are assembled using glue, tape and wire and approximately 11 inches tall. The box of seven roses and bouquets may be slightly different lengths to ensure they fit nicely in the box/jar. The wire stems can be easily trimmed with a pair of pliers.
